Porcelain paving and wall cladding are some of the most aesthetically pleasing and luxurious additions you can make to the garden or outdoor space.
Constantly growing in popularity, there are a wide range of porcelain patio slabs, pavers and wall cladding tiles available from Scott’s Landscape Supplies, all designed to create that sleek, ultra-modern look and finish and complement period properties and gardens.
So why choose porcelain?
As well as offering that truly authentic look and feel that’s more traditionally associated with natural stone, porcelain is also the practical choice for hardscape projects in gardens or outdoor spaces everywhere.
First and foremost, porcelain is both water and weather-proof which makes it a sensible option when cladding outside walls and paving paths and patios. Porcelain wall tiles and pavers are made from a mixture of clay, sand and other natural material, and fired in high-temperature kilns. This, along with their chemical make-up, will keep the look and feel of outdoor porcelain installations perfectly intact for years to come. What’s more, they are scratch-resistant, which makes them perfect for high footfall areas of the garden.
So, as well as being non-porous, they are also incredibly durable and, because they are impervious to water and other elements, they are very easy to maintain all-year-round. What’s more, there’s no need to apply a sealant once installed, as porcelain is naturally stain and mildew resistant. Similarly, liquids and oils cannot penetrate its surfaces. Everyday dirt and dust can be removed quickly and easily from its surfaces, with just a regular, quick rinse with the garden hose pipe.
Lastly, as they are made from natural substances, they are completely environmentally friendly and sustainable, benefiting from full recycling capabilities.
How is porcelain wall cladding installed?
You can affix porcelain cladding to a wide range of exterior surfaces including brick, render and even stones. These surfaces must, however, be evenly prepared and treated first with a suitable primer paste or solution, in order to reduce the absorption of fixing solutions.
How to cut porcelain when installing!
To cut porcelain pavers, we strongly recommend that you use a wet-wheel diamond tile cutter for regular shape cutting. For irregular cutting, an electric wheel diamond cutter is an excellent option. To cut porcelain clad tiles, we recommend using a score and snap tile cutter where necessary.
Our ranges!
We stock a wide range of porcelain, from more traditional styles to contemporary Italian porcelain, in a variety of sizes.
Take our Vento Italian Porcelain Pavers for instance (Anthracite variant featured top left image in above image). This is one of the most popular porcelain paving products we sell. Its size – 900×450 mm with a 20mm thickness throughout – makes it an extremely versatile paver that’s easy to work with in open and restrictive outdoor spaces alike. Manufactured in Italy to the highest possible specifications, Vento Porcelain Pavers are R11 slip-rated and vitrified to guarantee no water ingress. They also deliver an attractive, factory-cut finish… wherever they’re laid.
Porcelain ZCladding (featured centre image) is fast becoming one of our best-selling wall cladding solutions, again thanks to its flawless good looks, proven practicality and ease of installation. Our Porcelain ZCladding, also manufactured in Italy to the highest quality standards, can be affixed to a variety of surfaces such as concrete, brickwork, concrete block, plywood and plasterboard. Coming 15 to a pack, each tile is 400x160mm with a 10mm thickness throughout and an attractive split-face finish.
Rock Sand Italian Porcelain (featured right in above image) is the latest stunning addition to our comprehensive range of pavers, here at Scott’s Landscape Supplies. Offering an altogether more natural look and feel, whilst retaining all the benefits of porcelain, Rock Sand Italian Porcelain Pavers have a tumbled, pillowed edge and a sandy finish that delivers a refined outdoor aesthetic and complements a wide range of traditional gardens and contemporary outdoor spaces.
Each paver is 600x900mm with a 20mm thickness throughout and, once again, this stand-out range is manufactured in Italy to the highest possible standards of quality. Fully frost-resistant and R11 slip-rated for safety, Rock Sand Italian Porcelain Pavers can also be paired with a matching 10mm internal tile (also stocked by Scott’s Landscape Supplies} for an ultra-modern seamless look that brings the outside in.
